Today, a member of the community received a phone call on their landline. The caller stated they were from The Department of Homeland Security. The caller gave a badge number and everything. He then proceeded to tell her there was a package being sent to her address and wanted to confirm it. He gave an address and thankfully she had caught on to the scam and did not answer his questions even when he threatened to have the police come to her house.
Do not fall for these phone scams!!

Below is an older letter from The Department of Homeland Security outlining different different scams that have been enacted on people. Although this letter is a little older, you can guarantee the scam artists have upped their game. Remember, you will never receive a phone call, text message, Facebook message or email from any official government entity.
