Flush is Done! 4/12/2024

The flush is done! If you live on the green sections of the map below, you should run your outside faucets. This will clear your section of the system and complete the individual portion of the flush. We anticipate the next full system flush will be in October.

Always watch the back of your bills for updates and information!

Flush Update 4-11-24

The flush is done for today! The sad news is that they did not finish completely. The good news is that tomorrow should be quick and fairly painless. All of the main streets were done except for the blow off valves at the road ends. Here’s the breakdown.

Today they flushed the streets listed below. Members in these segments should run their outside faucets now to finish their portion of the flush.

Donald Ave, South of Sidney St

Diane Ave, South of Phillip St

All of Phillip St

Stephen St, East of Riepma Ave

All of Sharon St

Douglas St, East of Riepma Ave

Glencairn Rd, West of GabrielsonPenn Cove road between Gabrielson and Riepma.

King Water will finish the blow of valves at the street ends on Friday morning between 8am and noon. I am told that community members should still be able to use water during this time but there still could be moments of no water pressure. If you notice no water pressure, wait a few minutes and try again. Also, hold off on laundry and running the dishwasher in the morning.

The sections of the map in Red are DONE, the sections in GREEN will be done tomorrow morning. (Green-Ends of Stephen, Glencairn, Circle Douglas and Penn Cove Roads)

You should not need to run your outside faucets again today if you did it yesterday.

Flush Results- End of day 4-9-24

King Water has finished with the flush for today!! They got farther along than anticipated!! So, we’re hoping they’ll be able to finish the entire flush on Thursday. I’ll let you know Thursday by 5pm.

It’s time for everyone to get familiar with their community roads or take a look at the attached map. The sections in red were done today. If you live on the following streets or street sections that were flushed today, you need to run your outside faucet after 5pm. If you do not live on the following streets. Your street will be done on Thursday the 11th. or Friday the 12th and you will flush outside then.

All of – Mark St, Lisa St, Paul Ave, Allyson St, Sidney St were done today. As well as

Donald Ave, North of Sidney St.

Riepma Ave North of Phillip St

Shawn Ave, North of Phillip St

Diane Ave, North of Philip St.

Phillip St was NOT done.

FULL SYSTEM FLUSH PROCEDURE.  Rolling Hills-Glencairn main water lines will be flushed on Tuesday, April 9th and Thursday, April 11th with Friday, April 12th as the 3rd day if needed. Flushing begins at 8am and continues each day until 5pm. If the flush continues to the 3rd day, the signs at the entrances to the community will not be removed until the flush is 100% complete.

A full system flush consists of closing and opening main water valves strategically throughout the community to run water through all the main lines and out the fire hydrants. This process cleans out all the water lines of sediment that can build up over time. DO NOT USE ANY WATER during the flushing. You may have water in your home sporadically throughout the days but using it will only delay the restoration of supply to everyone.

Additionally, if you use water during the flush, it may pull water in the wrong direction and stirred up sediment will be pulled into your house or one of your neighbors. When the flushing is complete, we suggest you turn on an outside hose bib and let it run until you see that it runs clear (about 10-15 minutes, depending on how far the hose bib is from the main line in the street).

Recently, King Water has been flushing in sections, so only the streets that were actually flushed need to run their own faucet to complete the flush in their area. There is no need to run outside faucets if your street was not done. The website will be updated at the end of each flush day with the streets that were flushed and any other pertinent information. You will know when the flush is completed when the signs are removed from community entrances and if there is a current phone number on file for you in the office, you will receive a “Robo-call or Robo-text” from RHGC as the sender with the notification. Please update your contact information if you do not receive a notice.

Reservoir Cleaning

The reservoir cleaning is on the schedule for Tuesday, March 26th. This means our reservoirs will be empty and there will be NO WATER from 8am-5pm on that day. If you do have water via gravity feed, do not use it!! This will drain the pipes and cause issues for start-up. Plan ahead!

Water System Update

Currently we are waiting for 3 new transfer pumps in the oxidation basin to be installed, then pilot testing can begin. After pilot testing, the reservoir will be cleaned, and a full system flush will be done. We will keep you updated as we continue to transition to full operation. This process may still take a couple of months, thank you for your patience.

Service Shut Down

There will be a system wide water service shut down on Wednesday, August 16th from 8am-noon to begin the installation of the filters. Water will not be produced during these hours. Although some may still have water due to gravity, please DO NOT use it. This will drain the main service lines and make it more difficult to restore service. Service the rest of the day will be from the reservoir only, so please conserve as much as possible.

Call the office if you have questions 360-678-7446.

Low water pressure

We are decommissioning one of our non-functioning wells in the water plant tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25th 10am-12pm. You should expect to have lower water pressure during these hours. The generator will be powering on only 1 well and 1 booster pump for the duration of the work.

Flushing is done!

King Water has finished the full system flush. Sediment is stirred up during a flush. If you live South of Arnold Rd, you should run your outside faucets after 5pm today. You are participating in completing the flush by running your portion of the lines until you see that the water runs clear. All other streets were flushed on previous days, so those residents do not need to run outside faucets again unless you did not run your faucets after the previous days of flushing. It is possible for chlorine levels to be higher than normal after any water event, but it is not anticipated that it will be after this one. Thank you for your patience.

Thursday flush update

The Flushing signs keep blowing down, I have not taken them down. Flushing is done for Thursday but there is still a small section that will need to be done tomorrow (Friday.)
If you live on Riepma Ave (South of Sidney to Arnold), Shawn Ave, Diane Ave, Carl Ave, Donald Ave (South of Sidney to Arnold), Phillip St, Sharon Ave and Douglas St. Your lines were flushed today. These residents should run your outside lines to finish your part of the flush on your street after 5pm today.
If you live in Glencairn, or on any other street that was flushed yesterday, you do not need to run your outside faucets today. The last section (Everything south of Arnold Rd) will be done tomorrow. Friday, April 21, 8am to 5pm.
All residents should refrain from using water Friday, 8am-5pm. Even though you may have water, the water is needed to clear the lines. We will let you all know as soon as we are 100% done.
